RESURRECTIO
An Exhibition at the Pisa Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the Rebirth of Monte Pisano.
Back to InnovArte: the Event promotes the Union of Art, Economy and Territory.
Pisa, the 12th of April 2019.
It will be open until the 8th of November 2019 in the MAAC premises (Meeting Art Craft Center) of the Palazzo Affari in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, “Resurrectio - tribute to the Monti Pisani”: the Exhibition that the Sculptor Andrea Roggi dedicates to the Rebirth of Monte Pisano after the devastating fires of the past few months.
The Exhibition is part of the InnovArte project: an initiative conceived by the Chamber of Commerce of Pisa to promote those subjects who have demonstrated their ability to combine Art, Territory and Economy.
The characterizing element of the exhibition, which is located inside the building that houses offices open to the public and therefore deeply experienced, is the Olive Tree: the landscape and the economic heritage of Monte Pisano.
Olive Tree is considered in our Christian culture as an allegory of Rebirth after the destruction caused by the universal flood but it is also a symbol of peace because it is a sign of the end of the punishment and reconciliation of God with the Human race.
The Director of the Exhibition, the Architect Alberto Bartalini, puts at the entrance of the Exhibition “The World, a Single Soul” (“Il Mondo, un’unica Anima”) , a monumental sculpture the Artist wanted to represent a sort of metaphor with, both in its iconographic meaning, and in the symbolic one of plant life and where human figures fit into phytomorphic forms in which the diversity of elements mixes giving life to a sculpture rich in details and charm.
The many supporting actions received from institutions and private citizens that resulted last February in the first position among the places of the heart of the FAI - explains the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Pisa, Valter Tamburini - convinced us to use this exhibition as a vehicle to continue to keep the attention alive on the rebirth of Monte Pisano. Monte Pisano is one of the distinctive elements of the tourism sector on which we are working in close collaboration with companies, associations and institutions: the Lands of Pisa. The theme of this year's Innovarte exhibition is indeed to celebrate the effort made by Monte Pisano and the men who populate it for the rebirth of a territory so strongly struck by the human hand. »
The exhibition of the 20 bronze works of the Tuscan sculptor was inaugurated in the presence of the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Pisa Valter Tamburini, the Mayor of the Municipality of Calci, Massimiliano Ghimenti, the Mayor of Vicopisano, Juri Taglioli, the Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Pisa, Andrea Buscemi, of the Art Critic, Ilario Luperini and of the Exhibition’s Director, Alberto Bartalini.
The Exhibition - with free admission - will be open until November the 8th, Monday-Wednesday-Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 9.00 a.m. to 05.00 p.m. and during events organized within the MACC while it will remain closed in days 22nd, 25th and 26th April as well as the 17th of June, the 15th and the 16th of August and the 1st of November 2019.
The Tuscany Region, the Municipality of Pisa, the Municipality of Calci and the Municipality of Vicopisano have granted the initiative.

Resurrectio – tribute to Monti Pisani
by Ilario Luperini
The Olive Tree, with its strong symbolic charge, magnificently floods the renovated and refined headquarters of the Pisan Chamber of Commerce.
An Olive Tree whose trunk solidly unravels from a vibrant sphere of colors and matter and turns into very slim and supple human forms that are emotionally tapered and clinging in an upward thrust towards the High, towards the Divine.
The leafy branches of the well-known Mediterranean plant branch off from there, also spasmodically hovering towards the Infinite.
A symbiosis between Man and Nature, between Human and Divine.
They are the enveloping sculptures of Andrea Roggi, an artist whose notoriety goes far beyond national borders.
His poetics - a synthesis of emotions, suggestions, thought - draws life from the rediscovery of traditional techniques, revisited by a spirit animated by an energetic charge of actuality.
Sculptures fruit of a deep symbolic and allegorical meditation, yet so full of solid, concrete, spiritual vitality.
A poetic happily interpreted by Alberto Bartalini, the wise Director of the Event.
Here, from the meeting between these two strong personalities, the artistic itinerary is born that winds in the spaces of the Chamber of Commerce, conforming to the Innovarte Project.
Not a simple show.
It is the artistic creativity that comes from traditional places (museums, galleries, exhibition spaces) to go and meet people where they live and carry out their activities.
A completely virtuous path.
Starting from the space in front of the entrance until you reach the directional area through the elegant staircase.
And the Olive Tree, so poetically interpreted by Andrea Roggi, refers to the tragic story of our mountains that an insane mind has reduced to scorched earth.
Hence the title of the event.
Resurrectio: will to resurrection, a lively, full of hope tribute to Monte Pisano.
