LEVITAS
AMALFI
18th July - 31th October 2024
Exhibition "LEVITAS" by Andrea Roggi in Amalfi
Andrea Roggi’s works stem from an artistic exploration that, beyond the sculptural rendition and plastic form of figures and compositions, emphasizes a sense of movement, distancing itself from the static nature of traditional statuary.
Roggi's artistic passion and tireless technical research make bronze a material capable of conveying lightness
and airiness
in extremely dynamic and open artworks
, with figures captured in dreamlike visions and airborne dances.
The exhibition Lĕvĭtās
, organized in collaboration with Ravagnan Art Gallery
and the Municipality of Amalfi
, features monumental sculptures by the Master that suggest an ascent, an elevation upwards through their dance in the air, framed by the splendid setting of the Amalfi Coast
.
Accentuated contortions enrich the works with various perspectives, giving the solidity of bronze an impression of lightness that contrasts with its actual weight.
The exhibited pieces, all reaching towards the sky, invite us to reflect on the intimate quest of every human being seeking to rise towards the infinite.
Ultimately, the bronze sculptures presented in Amalfi communicate that we can elevate ourselves from this earthly condition towards something higher — be it the pursuit of knowledge, love for life, or universal brotherhood — we are directed towards the sky, towards lofty goals.
